An Ashton on Mersey School pupil is in shock after he hit a hole-in-one not once but twice in less than one week.

Will Furness hit a hole-in-one over the course of a competition at Styal Golf Club on September 10 and another hole-in-one over the course of a competition at Ringway Golf Club on September 15.

The Ashton on Mersey School pupil, previously of Springfield School up until this term, is a member of The Tommy Fleetwood Academy in Formby, Merseyside, where he receives training from Norman Marshall, an ex-coach of the European Tour and PGA Tour golfer, alongside other prospects.

He receives training from Haydn McCullen at his club in Ashton on Mersey too as he bids to become like his heroes.

His achievement at Styal Golf Club was witnessed by his family on the Par 3 fifth hole while at Ringway Golf Club it was witnessed by a group of golfers ahead of him on the Par 3 third hole when he lost sight of his shot from the tee.

Afterwards, Will said: “I was so pleased to get my first hole in one, something my dad hasn't achieved yet.

“I was so shocked when I did it again so soon after but it was an amazing feeling and all the members at Ringway Golf Club were congratulating me afterwards in the clubhouse.”
