A YOUNG golfer from Sale is into a prestigious international tournament – but is in need of funds to cover the cost of the competition.
Will Furness hopes to become a professional like players Tiger Woods and Tommy Fleetwood, and the Champion of Champions World Junior Golf Championship is one of his best opportunities to date.
The Springfield Primary School pupil, 10, is a member of Ashton on Mersey Golf Club and the Tommy Fleetwood Academy, both of which he is set to represent at the international tournament in July.
But he is in need of funds to go towards accommodation, coaching, entry costs and travel to Ireland.
To this end, Will will take on a 54-hole golf challenge next week, which will see him start at 7.30am and play three rounds in one day.
He has a GoFundMe with a target of £750. To contribute to the GoFundMe, go to gofundme.com/f/will-furness-54-hole-golf-challenge.
