IN reply to the letter about parking on pavements (The Messenger, May 10) there is no way Trafford Council will upset motorists.
The car is king, pedestrians are peasants.
Despite the provision of car parks and rubbish receptacles, everywhere is littered with vehicles and detritus.
I was saddened to see children sent out to clean our streets, a crass move that solves nothing.
Meaningful penalties for dropping litter could be flogging and for car parking on roads or pavements, confiscation of vehicles.
This country is far too soft as highlighted by timid, botched Brexit
negotiations similar to how Cameron created the mess.
