I HAVE today received notification of my pending vote for the new Mayor, Osborne's mistaken sop to the English in light of the ceding of more and more power to the Northern Irish, Welsh and in particular Scottish Assemblies.
We did not ask for this, indeed we voted massively against it some years ago.
Yet another tier of government: Not just one person but a whole group of civil servants: Which current areas of local government, dare a mere member of the electorate ask, are being made redundant to pay for this monstrosity. Zero, just maybe.Don't dare tell us we need another new magnificent building to accommodate these cronies as happened in London, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
It's revolting, unnecessary and rather than increasing the peoples sense of democratic expression, will I fear simply add to our feeling of alienation and disenfranchisement from those who are supposed to be our public servants.
