OVER recent months, in fact since I became a grandfather, I have seen a dramatic increase of parking on the pavement in Sale.
My concern is trying to pass with a pram, but wheelchair users and blind people must similarly be affected.
One particular area that is bad is Glebelands Road, where vehicles park well on the pavement forcing pedestrians on to a very busy road.
The council say that since there are no parking restrictions then it's a police matter.
The police say they will look at the situation - it was raised with them more than two months ago, it appears that they must not have seen anything since the cars are still there.
There must be many other areas with similar problems it may be the only way to cure is to tell the police regularly about danger spots.
Proud grandad
