MS Plaistow (Messenger, July 23) is quite right in her complaint regarding the site of the Hospital.

Perhaps a better solution would have been the conversion of Station House into a Hospital, with easy access to bus, tram and train.

However, a solution to the parking problem could be found. As residents of Altrincham, rather than the leafy suburbs of Hale, Hale Barns and Bowdon are aware, there are approximately twenty empty business premises on the Main Street and a few on George Street.

If the businesses on the side of Railway Street were to be relocated in the empty premises, an area close to the Hospital could be demolished and made into a multi-storey Car Park for the Hospital.

This may sound to be rather philistine, but one has to be realistic and realise that the motor car is far more important than the presence of a few empty shops.

Perhaps also some flats could be built there also.
