I WRITE in support of the plans to redevelop the site at Hale Bowling Green for the re-positioning of the library.
The library is a vital resource in the community, not only as a valuable research resource - I have three children of secondary school age, but also as a meeting place for a huge variety of social groups.
The building work will undoubtedly be disruptive. My house overlooks the car-park and bowling green, but I would certainly put up with the temporary inconvenience to support the re-development.
In an age when communities are increasingly isolated by modern technology and the convenience of digital media and e-mails, the library is so much more than a book sharing facility.
