THE Friends of Stamford Park are to be congratulated on their efforts to revitalise the park.

What a shame that the makers of the picnic benches were identified merely as 'an English company' so that other groups were prevented from researching these excellent products.

The company is, in fact, FTS Ltd. of Ashley who won the Messenger 'Environmental Contribution Award' a few years ago. All their products are manufactured locally from timber from Trafford streets, parks, schools, businesses and dwellings and this ensures that our local carbon footprint is minimised.
