I AM appalled at the thought of Trafford Council making a loan of £4 to Lancashire County Cricket Club to enable them to build a bigger hotel.

We hear on a daily basis about the cuts being made to services in the borough, especially to elderly care and children's services.

Lancashire already have a hotel and there are several within walking distance, why then do they need to build a bigger one?

According to your article (5/3/15) there are to be jobs created in the area when this new hotel is built, what about those people who already work in the existing hotel? Surely they would be re-employed? This statement doesn't really stack up.

We are a small company based in Trafford, we supply a service to the council and are yet to receive payment on time.

I'm sure if we were late paying our rates then Trafford would take action against u s- double standards at the very least.

Come on Trafford Council, if you've got £4m that you can loan Lancashire Cricket Club, then pay your suppliers on time and stop the horrendous cuts to local services.
