'NICE to read in the Messenger how Thomson Holidays has refunded Hazel Jackson's holiday cost and offered a goodwill freebie also. (The Timperley woman mocked via facebook on a recent flight).
What isn't mentioned is how the offending staff member was dealt with.
Well, a foolish and silly thing it might have been to do, but I hope Thomson exercised some compassion and forgiveness and didn't overreact in the glare of media coverage of this story.
This was jokey and frivolous gossip we are all guilty of occasionally, and it would be a shame to think an ill-thought but casual posting resulted in a sacking and ruined career.
I dare say this would have been a valuable learning experience for this staff member who I'm sure will be a wiser and more considered individual from now on.
Just hopefully not a jobless one.
