MAY I use your letters page to express my view of the new community hall at Altrincham FC.

I have to say it is a magnificent building, which I’m certain will be of excellent value to the community.

However, being an OAP and a hearing-aid wearer, I find the sound system on match days, so incredibly loud that I cannot hear even those sitting beside me.

Without the hearing aid I am deaf but with it every sound is so augmented that all I hear is a cacophony of intelligible sound.

Does the volume in those speakers have to be quite so loud? Added to that is the stipulation to eat only food which is served in the community hall.

It is expensive and not good value, especially when there is a fish and chip shop opposite.

I used to enjoy a fish and chip lunch with a pint in the Noel White bar before matches. Now, that is outlawed!

It is a pity that the food presently on offer is over-priced and, quite frankly, not up to the standard established by the fish and chip shop opposite. I do so hope for a speedy resolution of these issues.
