THE Messenger’s coverage of the increase in allowance for the leader of Trafford Council has been a little unfair.
It could have been made much more obvious that this pay rise has been costed by decreases in other councillor costs.
Considering the work [council leader] Sean Anstee does, not just with his own council but with the GMCA, it is right that he is paid for a full time position.
When you also consider the pay of leaders and councillors elsewhere in Manchester, it is only fair.
