ALTRINCHAM Kersal's indifferent and injury-prone North One West season came to a close at home last Saturday with a 43-22 defeat against Firwood Waterloo.

Tries came from Andy Thomas, Jon Dodd, Jack Gallimore and Callum Yates, Yates also kicking a conversion.

The team will now play in the South Lancs and Cheshire League next season.

The second XV were also at home and safe in the knowledge that they have secured promotion after a successful season, enjoyed a comprehensive and resounding 66-7 victory over Winnington Park.

Tries came from John Coulson, Jordan Roberts, Jack Snoddy, Jack Braithwaite, Tom Tsaintar, George Kelly, Ollie Wright and Andy Frain.

They play their final league match on Saturday at home to Glossop, where both teams will battle it out to clinch the top spot as league winners.

Kersal also still have to compete for the BEST Trophy in the final against Didsbury TocH to be held at Burnley RUFC on Saturday, May 5.

The third XV lost at Ashton on Mersey 29-15, and will face Wilmslow away in their final match of the season.

On Sunday, Kersal's Under-13s ended their season with a 20-15 defeat at Tyldesley.

They have one more match on Sunday, May 6, in the cup against Beverley RFC to be played at Anselmians RFC, 10am start.
