SALE Hockey Club's Ladies' firsts won 1-0 at local rivals Timperley Ladies' seconds in Division Two South West, thanks to a Beth Milman goal.
The visitors were looking to bounce back after a slip against Wilmslow the previous weekend and in driving rain they made a good start.
Sale were in the right positions and on good form and well-implemented training moves resulted in shots on target. Eventually, Milman finished a set-piece won by a lot of attacking pressure.
The game was end-to-end and even when Sale felt like everything and everyone was against them, they dug deep, defended and kept their heads to see the game out.
Sale are now safe in the higher division after a creditable first campaign.
