MANCHESTER Giants basketball team are delighted to announce five new signings for the new British Basketball League season.

They are led by Callum Jones, who returns from last season’s squad.

The Manchester-born guard has played in all three of the Giants’ campaigns since the return to the league in 2012.

Former Manchester Magic man Nathan Schall, who played for the club in the 2012/13 season, has also signed, along with fellow forward Usman Baba.

Nigeria-born Baba also played with Magic, as did follow recruit, Arnold Emelone, a guard who also spent time with Stockport Spartans and Sheffield Hallum University.

Player/coach Yorick Williams’ other new face is former Lancashire Spinners and Huddersfield guard Chris Hodkin.

Williams had already made five signings, with Stefan Gill, Ingus Bankevics, Ryan Lewis and Anthony Purcell are back from last season.

Olu Babalola has also signed from Sheffield Sharks.

Giants CEO John Dwan said: “Yorick has been working hard over the last couple of weeks and has looked at a lot of players.

“We are delighted to see Callum back at the club, he has made a big contribution to what we achieved so far.

“And we welcome back Nathan and some new blood as well.”
