Sale Ladies Hockey - report

SALE Ladies 1st team were away to Golburne on Saturday , playing in the Cheshire 1st div.

Coming off the back of a run of clean sheets and wins Sale were determined to continue their good work.

The team started well in good formation applying wave after wave of attacks. The Golburne keeper made some great saves but eventually a well worked goal with 4/5 Sale players linking up passes to be well placed past the keeper by Jane Fylan.

Sale seemed to go off the boil and be a little complacent leaving Golburne to attack gaining a penalty corner which they converted into a goal. 1-1. >> Sale regrouped at half time and decided upon their plan of attack for the second half.

With the defence remaining solid and strong and stepping up to help the midfield link with the forwards Sale once again applied the pressure.

Again the Golburne keeper made some tremendous saves but once again Sale turned pressure into goals by a penalty corner turned in by Sarah Rowley.

This gave the final result 2-1 Sale win . Sale 2nds found their form on Saturday with a convincing 7-1 victory over, local rivals, Brooklands in Cheshire Div 2.

Brooklands took an early lead with a short corner but from then on Sale dominated the game, starting With a clinical hat-trick of goals in the first half from "silver Fox" Sue Laister. The second half saw sale keep up the pressure with some good short passes and building from the back resulting in four more goals from, dani boothman, Megan walmsley, and 2 from striker Hannah aldridge . A great team effort.
