TIMPERLEY Hockey Club men’s first team traveled to Sheffield on Saturday hoping to get the season back on track.

After a hard few weeks the lads started the game brightly and had the best of the possession for the first 20mins but never really created any out and out chances.

Sadly possession doesn’t win hockey games and Sheffield broke away and scored a goal against the run of play to make it 1-0. Timperley players heads dropped and lots of mistakes happened and they never really got going and by half time they were 4-1 down with only a goal from Lee Sinclair to talk of..

The second half was scrappy and pretty much uneventful, Timperley won a few short corners but even these were not put away and the game ended up 4-1.. For the majority of the game the sides were very similar bar the 15 minutes of madness in the first half.

Struan Connor and Rodney Philips played well in the midfield and Will Tobin got Man of the match.

Next week Timperley host Whitley Bay hoping to get the form back they started the season off with
