SKIPPER Dan Braid is looking for his Sale Sharks team-mates to bounce back against Wasps at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday after a Boxing Day reverse at Exeter Chiefs.

Sharks went down 33-17 at Sandy Park, despite showing plenty of endeavour and scoring two tries through Will Addison and Josh Beaumont.

However, they couldn't stop an impressive Exeter side from securing the five points.

Despite the loss, though, Braid remains upbeat and bhopes Sharks can kick off 2016 with a bang by stinging Wasps.

Braid told the club's website: "Wasps are playing very well this season, with a lot of firepower in the backs and forwards.

"We'll back the attitude that we had playing against the Chiefs and take it into the game.

"We enjoy playing at the AJ Bell Stadium, so we'll look forward to that."

Braid was naturally disappointed with the Boxing day defeat in Devon but was satisfied with the effort shown.

He added: "It was a brave effort – the boys fronted up physically and the attitude was there, but the skill execution wasn't quite there.

"It was a tough breeze that we took in the first half and Exeter did well to hold a lot of possession early on.

"We took our chances to go in level at half time.

"We managed to get a good try early on in the second half.

"But with a few errors here and there, plus that strong wind, we got stuck at the wrong end of the field and couldn't get anything from the game."
