WITH the World Cup just around the corner, two Sale Sharks players were busy representing their countries in the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup at the weekend.

On Saturday, Viliami Fihaki came off the bench as Tonga lost 30-22 to Fiji in a physical and entertaining encounter in Suva.

Each side scored three tries apiece with Henry Seniloli, Waisea Nayacalevu and Peni Ravai dotting down for the home side and Fetu'u Vainikolo, debutant Telusa Veainu and Sonatane Takulua finding their way onto the scoresheet for the 'Ikale Tahi in a game that was on a knife-edge throughout.

Meanwhile, winger Phil MacKenzie also came off the bench for Canada against Japan, as they fell to a 20-6 loss in San Jose.

After the game, Canada captain Tyler Ardron said that discipline is something they will be working hard on during the week leading up to Friday's game against Tonga in Burnaby:

"Most of the penalties we gave away were when we had ball in hand so it was very frustrating. That's how we want to play, ball in hand, so not being able to keep it and putting phases together to do what we've practiced all week is frustrating."

Meanwhile with England, Danny Cipriani is working hard in Denver as the England squad continue to prepare for the Rugby World Cup in September.
