FULL TIME - Histon 1 Alty 0 - Six games winless now after another defeat but th final result was probably a fair reflection of the game.

Alty put in a superb performance in the first half but the second half was most definitely Histon's. They played with real purpose and in the end, probably had the chances to win more comfortably.

Still, Alty can feel hard done by in the build up to the goal, as it looked like a clear handball - typical of their luck so far this season.

Back to the drawing board and now getting a result against Salisbury on Saturday becomes even more important.

Still, at least Vics lost.

90 mins - There's still time. The fourth official has indicated an extra five minutes but then again, that's more likely to bring a goal for Histon than Alty.

Coburn had a lucky escape on 86 minutes when he brought down Reeves after the striker had got behind Alty's defence. Luckily it was far enough out wide for the referee only to brandish a yellow but Reeves had looked well offside when the ball went over the top anyway.

85 mins - No clear cut chances for either side but it's been pretty high tempo.

Alty are pushing forwardin search of an equaliser but as they do, there are more and more spaces appearing at the back.

Histon probably have this one wrapped up now because the Robins have barely threatned in the second half. After such a good display in the first 45, they've been second best after the break - not by a lot but by enough.

New signing Paul Tierney has come on for his debut but it was more of an enforced change than a tactical one as Danylyk was walking on thin ice in midfield, threatening to add to his earlier booking with a couple of silly challenges.

80 mins - Looking bleak now. That goal has really boosted Histon and they're looking very dangerous.

That said, Alty had a half chance when Little clipped a ball into the box and O'Neill hooked a shot towards goal, Naisbitt catching it undewr his bar as it looked to be dipping into the net.

At the moment though, there is only one team that really look like scoring.

GOAL - 74 mins - Histon 1 (Gwillim) Alty 0 - Alty's resistance is broken.

Gwillim struck a superb shot past Coburn with the keeper seemingly unsighted but the chance came about in slightly controversial circumstances.

The ball was cleared out to Midson, who appeared to handball before launching a cross into the box.

The ball was cleared by the Robins but only as far as Gwillim who struck a powerful skidding shot into the corner of the net. Harsh.

70 mins - Something of an escape for Alty just moments ago.

Histon haven't had much to show for their dominance but a left-wing corner from Oyebanjo found Midson at the far post and Coburn did extremely well to scuttle across his line and make the block at the near post.

Lee Elam has come on for Denham, he's not hadmuch luck tonight, while former Farsley striker Damien Reeves has come on for the home side, he can provide real threat.

65 mins - Histon just have the bit between their teeth at the minute and have had the upper hand.

They've not created any really threatening chances but have had Alty pinned back in their own half for a prolonged spell.

Joe O'Neill has come on now for Johnson, a straight swap up front, but Johnson can be pretty pleased with his display, he worked hard tonight.

60 mins - Alty have coped well with the early threat again, much as they did in the first half and there have been a few signs that they might be able to extract some change from the home defence.

They have most joy when they're turning the Histon unit, knocking balls in behind and forcing them to make tough decisions. It's not happening enough though and at the moment 0-0 looks the most likely result.

55 mins - Histon have enjoyed the only real cance of the half so far but luckily for Alty, Midson didn't have his finishing boots on.

The ball broke to the wideman inside the area but he could only fire straight at Coburn - although McGregor possibly got a slight touch on the shot.

In these difficult conditions, Alty need to ensure they remain focussed and try and keep possession, no matter how difficult that is on a greasy surface.

It's the kind of weather that will definitely suit the hosts.

50 mins - Second half has started much as the first ended - the only difference being tha the rain is now lashing down here in Cambridgeshire. I thought it was supposed to be permanently sunny down south!

It's still a very even contest, even though Histon seem to have started with the half time words of Steve Fallon ringing in their ears.

They still can't break down the Robins but I reckon this will be a tougher 45 minutes for the visiting defence.

Second half - Both teams unchanged for the restart and we're underway here.

Half time - Alty can be pleased with that. They've put in a really good 45-minute shift and have matched their hosts every step o the way.

AS mentioned before, Lawton and Danylyk have been impressive in midfield but the back four have been extremely solid too.

Mark McGregor has led by example at the heart of the defence - his performances have been improving with each game he plays.

Young has also done a very good job at left back, making a couple of crucial challenges, maybe this could be a more permanent arrangement.

Still another 45 minutes to play though. A goal would be nice but I think everyone would settle for a point here.

40 mins - So far a goalless scoreline is probably fair.

Both teams have had their chances and it's been a well-contested, even game.

Considering Alty's problems dealing with Histon in the past, they've done a very good job so far. Lawton and Danylyk have been crucial in the centre of midfield, breaking up play and giving the simple pass to a teammate.

It's particularly pleasing to see Lawton back to his swashbuckling best because he's been under-par so far this season.

35 mins - The best chance of the game so far has gone the way of Alty.

Just moments ago the ball broke on the edge of the area and Peyton cracked a stinging snapshot at goal that Danny Naisbitt just about managed to turn away.

The keeper wasn't expecting that one and it was a great bit of opportunism from Peyton.

Histon have gone close as well though. Gareth Gwillim whipped in an inswinging free kick from the right flank and although Lane got his head to it, the ball hit a Histon player on the back and broke to Mitchel-King.

The Stutes skipper hit a low shot towards the corner and Coburn did very well to claw it out.

30 mins - The Histon fans are just starting to get ever so slightly frustrated here.

There have been a couple of groans punctuating misplaced passes and refereeing decisions, obviously worried their team haven't been able to maintain their strong start.

The hosts have looked no great shakes so far but they have a couple of players in there who still ca be matchwinners. Murray has looked dangerous and Wright is always a handful so Alty need to stay focused.

25 mins - A very worrying moment there when Murray got free down the right and squared into the box, Wright just failing to get on the end of it with Alty's defence completely sliced open.

There haven't been many moments like that though, it's been a good, solid display so far after a dodgy start.

If they can keep up like this, there's something in this game for them.

20 mins - No goals yet but Alty have enjoyed a couple of cracking chances in the last few minutes.

Only a superb bit of defending from the highly-rated full back Lanre Oyebanjo denied Little, nicking the ball right off his head from Denham's quality right-wing delivery.

Then, from a corner, Warren Peyton delivered right-footed and Young got up well, directing his header just wide of the post.

It's been a good passage of play from the visitors and they have the local radio commentators sat behind me in the press box - which includes injured Histon defender Erkan Okay - slightly worried.

15 mins - The counter-attack seems to be where Alty will have most joy tonight.

Histon have started pretty well and have enjoyed more of the ball so far but there have been a couple of chances for the Robins to hit them on the break.

Both times poor delivery has let them down though, with Chris Denham and Anthony Danylyk both overhitting raking crossfield passes aimed at Little. Just a Little more composure is needed on the ball.

10 mins - Still not much in this yet.

A lot of what Histon are trying is played dwn the right flank, with centre forward Danny Wright frequently peeling out wide to receive the ball.

He was almost away at one point too but Young recovered in time to make the challenge inside the box.

5 mins - Rather than Chris Lane at left back, it's Greg Young who lines up there, possibly to deal with any high crossfield balls.

Young ha played there quite a bit before in his career and actually lined up at left bac for Halifax in their play-off final just over a year ago.

Despite Histon's early eagerness, it's been a solid enough start, with a couple of balls into the box dealt with well.

That's no mean feat either because it's like land of the giants here at the Glassworld Stadium, such is the size of the home team.

7.45pm - We're underway here andthe modest travelling contingentare already making one hell of a noise behind Stuart Coburn's goal.

With Histon looking to bounce back after their poor performance against Forest Green on Saturday, his is set to be a very tough game.

Their physical style always seems to cause Alty problems so lets see if Graham Heathcote's change make a difference.

7.15pm - A few surprises in the starting line-up, not least of all the seeming lack of a natural left back.

New signing Paul Tierney is only on the bench, while Matt Doughty is dropped from the starting line-up completely.

It seems as though Chris Lane will play left back, after all he has done in the past.

As expected Colin Little and Dale Johnson start up front but Chris Senior is omitted for the squad, with Joe O'Neill taking a spot on the bench.

Meanwhile, Histon have dropped Nathaniel Knight-Percival after a couple of poor games from the promising youngster.

He was one of the stars of last year's campaign but makes way for Jamie Barker.
