ALTRINCHAM made it nine goals in a week as they followed up the 5-1 mauling of Nantwich Town with a 4-0 win against Rushall Olympic which sent their Walsall-based opponents to the bottom of the Evo-Stik Premier table.

Again without several of their players through injury, Altrincham took an 18th-minute lead on a rain-soaked afternoon at the J.Davidson Stadium.

It was centre-back Ben Harrison who opened the scoring when he steered home a well-placed shot from the edge of the box following a corner.

The lead was doubled 20 minutes later when leading marksman, Josh Hancock, fired a low shot into the keeper's bottom left-hand corner following a pass from Simon Richman.

Five minutes after the break, Rushall's Kristian Scott was shown a straight red card after he hauled down Hancock as the Alty man was getting clear just inside the Olympic half.

Against the 10 men it took until the 73rd minute for Altrincham to press home their advantage.

The third goal came from a counter-attack up the middle led by substitute James Poole. He fed Tom Peers who, in turn, laid the ball off for John Johnston to blast home.

The scoring was completed just before the start of added time.

Visiting keeper Dale Eve saved a Poole shot but the ball ran loose and Jordan Hulme nipped in to round the keeper and tap into an empty net.

The win lifted Altrincham to third place in the table in advance of their trip to Whitby Town on Tuesday.
