LOCAL football history was made on Friday night at Altrincham FC.
AFC Quarry (previously King George FC) from the Saturday Altrincham and District League retained the Cheshire Senior Cup with a 2-1 victory against Linotype Cheadle.
It is the fourth year in a row they have claimed the cup - something that has not been achieved in the cup’s 110 year history.
Steve Wilkinson, manager of the club, - which was set up 10 years ago - said: "This win was our finest yet, we moved from the King George to the Quarry Bank just two years ago and to play once at Altrincham FC as an amateur is special.
“To play four times and win four times in a row is very special, we dedicated the win to Damon Gatley a member of the club who sadly passed away in November."
