Trafford have signed 19-year-old goalkeeper Brad Rose on a season-long loan from Northern Premier League Premier Division side Radcliffe FC.

Rose came through the ranks as a junior at Salford City and was considered to be rather unfortunate not to be offered a professional contract.

However, his impressive form at Radcliffe caught the eye of Trafford boss Danny Caldecott who was delighted to add him to his ranks.

The Trafford boss said: “Brad’s attitude to the game is superb.

“He has many outstanding attributes and we are indebted to Radcliffe in trusting us to further develop his career.

“However, we have another young keeper called Niall Jordan who has come through the junior ranks at Trafford and he will be competing for the number one shirt with Brad.”

Both goalkeepers will be given the opportunity to replace legend Matty Cooper who retired from the game in May, with Trafford commencing their programme of pre-season friendless on Saturday when they host Curzon Ashton at Shawe View (3pm).
