SALE Sharks have signed 'old boy' Magnus Lund from Biarritz.

Magnus returns to the club after playing in France for the past six years.

He made his Sale Sharks debut back in 2002 against Bristol Shoguns as a 19-year-old and was a member of the team that won the Championship at Twickenham in 2006, scoring Sale's first try in the win over Leicester Tigers.

During his six years as a Sharks player, Magnus was also capped 10 times by England and was a Silver Medal winner in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, in Australia, in the England Sevens team that also included David Seymour.

During his time in France, Magnus captained Biarritz and was also a member of their team that were runners up to Toulouse in the 2010 Heineken Cup Final.

Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond said: “I am delighted Magnus has signed for us. I gave him his debut back in 2002 and have followed his career down the years. He is a great signing for us and will fit in perfectly with our plans.”
