THE race to win the prestigious Norman Barber Cup has begun.
A number of northern teams gather every Sunday evening at Timperley sports club to play a high-level of lacrosse, all aiming to get that one step further to taking home the cup.
The Boys’ U19’s league boasts a considerable amount of talent and every Sunday evening proves to be an entertaining display of fast-paced competition.
Many of the players are also members of the England Youth academy and have represented England Knights Lacrosse internationally.
Last year, Timperley’s Lacrosse Club had uncontested dominance, filling the trophy cabinet by winning, the Ted Donnet Cup, the League, and the Norman Barber Cup, due to an unbeaten season.
However, they have fallen short to Poynton who are yet to lose a game this season, including victories over Timperley and the other strong Trafford team, Brooklands. Timperley Lacrosse Club have their first game scheduled for March 9 and hope to win every game they have, including an attempt to prevent Poynton from continuing their winning streak.
All games are free to come and watch on Sunday evenings at Wood Lane, Timperley, all welcome.
