RED hot Czech sniper Michal Psurny netted five goals on Sunday as Manchester Phoenix cruised past Slough Jets.
Frantisek Bakrlik and Jack Watkins put the home side 2-0 up before Psurny rifled home his first goal of the night. But the Jets pulled a goal back via Jamie Line with only 6 seconds remaining in the first period to keep the visitors in touch.
Psurny grabbed a lucky shorthanded second which found its way into the Jets goal via the skate of defenceman Matt Towalski but again the away side answered late in the period with a strike from Mindaugas Kieras at the buzzer.
However a hat-trick of third period goals from Psurny sealed the points with the first of his third period treble deflecting in again via a Slough defender before a sublime finish put Phoenix out of sight at 6-2.
Psurny finished his goal tally for the night with a back post tap in to seal the points and Tony Hands side back on top of the EPL table.
Man of the match Psurny said:: “This game may have looked easy with all the trouble Slough has had but it still needed to be won. We worked hard and scored the goals and I am pleased with the win.”
Phoenix are back in action away on Saturday at the Slough Jets before entertaining the Milton Keynes Lightning on Sunday.
