HAT trick hero Michal Psurny helped red hot Manchester Phoenix stay top of the pile on Sunday night as they split the weekends points with second placed Guildford.

After losing their first game of the season on Saturday 3-2 in Surrey, Tony Hands side bounced back in emphatic style with a come from behind win against their title rivals.

Player coach Tony Hand opened the scoring on Sunday after a bad turn over from Guildford deep in their own zone before Ben Campbell brought the visitors level before the break.

Andy McKinney restored the home sides advantage within two minutes of the restart but back to back Guildford strikes from former Phoenix favourite Tom Duggan and Dean Holland saw the visitors take the lead.

Phoenix, however, stormed back with goals from Psurny, netting his first, Luke Boothroyd bagging a powerplay goal and Robin Kovar adding a fifth before the second break leaving Guildford shocked.

Psurny added his second and Phoenix’s sixth early in the final period leaving the result beyond doubt, whilst another former Manchester favourite Marcus Kristoffersson added Guildfords fourth before Psurny broke away in the final minutes to seal his hat-trick and the points.
