CAPTAIN Luke Boothroyd fired in an overtime winner on Sunday night to save Manchester Phoenix as they lost a four goal lead.
Phoenix, buoyed by an impressive 4-1 win at Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday, raced into a 4-0 lead against Swindon before the visitors clawed their way back to send the game to overtime.
Goals from Ondrej Pozivil, Michal Psurny and Ciaran Long gave the home side a commanding three goal lead going into the first break and it looked set to be an easy night for the hosts.
Tom Duggan crashed home a fourth goal before the Phoenix defence collapsed at the midway point of the game.
Wildcats forward Michal Kapicka struck with a scrappy effort to get the visitors on the board, Chris Jones then netted the Cats second and this was quickly followed by a second Kapicka goal after a mistake from Boothroyd.
Kapicka sealed his treble and completed the Wildcats comeback with a goal in the third period stunning the home support and sending the game into an extra period.
Phoenix killed a late bench penalty and struck the winner through Boothroyd as he was left in acres of space to beat Cats netminder Dean Skinns to seal a double winning weekend.
