CAMPAIGNERS challenging plans to build on Flixton’s green belt have held a packed public meeting.
The Flixton, Urmston and Davyhulme Future Planning group are fighting town hall proposals to build houses on swathes of land in Flixton as part of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF).
On April 3, the group held a public meeting at Flixton House, in Flixton Road, with ward members Cllr Jonathan Coupe and Cllr Viv Ward in attendance.
The group’s Michelle McGrath said: “Both councillors made it clear that they did not have answers to some of the questions as the results of the objections have not yet been made known, but they did commit to sharing information as soon as it becomes available.
"They have also agreed to attend future meetings and have committed to working with the community in our fight to prevent development."
