A FLIXTON family is calling for action to improve the signs to properties on Milford Gardens in Flixton.

Julie Heery says it is so poorly signed that no-one can find the bungalows.

Julie, from Ambleside Road, Flixton, was concerned when her mum, Millford Gardens resident Renee McSweeney, was taken to hospital recently.

Her dad, Chris, asked the ambulance to park on Irlam Road because, in the past, emergency vehicles had been unable to find the address.

She said: “Nobody, not even the postman, can find the group of eight bungalows which are at the end of Millford Avenue.

“Ambulances, the fire brigade, police and doctors all call at Millford Avenue when they want to contact my parents at Millford Gardens.

“There could be a death one day.

“I spoke to the gas man who couldn’t even find it on his Sat Nav. He could only get to Millford Avenue.”

Mrs Heery said that as you approach from Woodsend along Irlam Road., the view to the one road sign is obstructed by bushes.

“If you are coming along Irlam Road, from Flixton Road, the sign is facing the wrong way so you go past it!”

Trafford Council was approached two years ago without success."

Ward councillor Jonathan Coupe promised to take up the case. He said: “I can understand that this would be an issue and now I know about it, I will do whatever I can to resolve it.”
