A TRAFFORD councillor who is a Greater Manchester Mayoral candidate Jane Brophy has pledged to fight against Brexit.
Jane Brophy, who is a councillor for Timperley ward , said: "I am the only proudly pro-European candidate in this mayoral election and I will fight against the Government’s aggressive Brexit agenda every step of the way."
As the historic court case over the EU referendum result continues, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Mayor of Greater Manchester has said the 'fight for Greater Manchester's place in Europe is not over'.
Jane Brophy, who is running on an unapologetically pro-EU ticket, said: "Labour and Conservatives have lost sight and are blindly sleepwalking this country out of the EU and out of the single market with absolutely no consideration for local jobs here in Greater Manchester.
Also standing are Andy Burnham (Labour), Sean Anstee (Conservative), Shneur Odze (UKIP) and Deyika Nzeribe (Greens).
