A CYCLIST was jumped by two men in Timperley in the early hours of this morning, who beat him up before stealing his bike.
A man was riding his bike in Thorsby Road shortly after midnight on Sunday October 30 when two men jumped out in front of him, forcing him to break suddenly.
The thugs pushed the man off his bike and repeatedly kicked and punched him while he was lying on the ground.
Some passers-by tried to intervene but the men continued the attack, before stealing the victim’s bike and fleeing the scene.
A spokesperson for GMP Trafford South said: “The victim was very badly shaken by the ordeal and was taken to hospital with a head injury, although he has since been discharged.”
Enquiries are ongoing and an investigation has been launched.
Anyone who has information about the attack should contact the police on 101 or contact the Independent Charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
