A PUPPY that was stolen during a burglary in the middle of the night has been reunited with his overjoyed owners.

Bobbie, a five month old Shih Tzu cross Maltese, was snatched by burglars who raided a family home in Hancock Street at around 3am on Tuesday March 28.

Bobbie was taken, along with a laptop, tablet and jewellery, as the family slept upstairs.

After discovering his empty crate in the morning, Bobbie’s heartbroken owners appealed for the public’s help in finding him.

And police have now confirmed Bobbie has been reunited with his owners, after being found wandering a street in Withington.

He was found to be in a good condition and the people who found him stayed at the vet to keep him company until his overjoyed owners arrived to pick him up.

Unfortunately the laptop, tablet and jewellery that were taken during the burglary remain outstanding.

Police Constable Lucy Nicholas, of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “Thankfully Bobbie has now been found safe and well, much to the joy of his relieved owners who had been left devastated by his disappearance.

“The appeal for his safe return received an overwhelming response which I believe had a big influence on him being found and I would like to thank the public for their help.

“Unfortunately, there are still a number of outstanding items that were stolen during the burglary and we are still appeal for anybody with information about those responsible to please come forward.”
