THE Friends of Stretford Public Hall are holding their first Annual General Meeting and are calling on the community to have their say on the future of the hall.

The community group bought the hall from Trafford Council last year. They have already welcomed their first paying tenants and have opened an artist studio and co-working space.

The hall was built for the community by John Rylands in 1879. The Friends want to share their plans to bring the building back to full use and are calling on local residents to join them at the AGM on Sunday September 18.

Chair of the Board, Annoushka Deighton said: "I'm excited to be sharing our progress so far and our plans for the future".

The meeting will also include the voting of new members to group's board and further information on its community shares plan. Members will be able to become part owners of the hall by helping fund the £10,000 required for essential and urgent repairs to the building.

The meeting is open to both members and guests, although voting will only be open to members.

The meeting will run from 2pm to 4pm. Guests who wish to become members will be able to do this upon arrival at the hall between 1:30pm and 2:00pm or by visiting the hall's website stretfordpublichall.org.uk/membership.
