The Sale Arts Trail group is taking part in the Sale Festival with an exhibition and art market at the Waterside Arts Centre.

The exhibition,’Artist Takeover,’ on Sunday June 11 , includes more than 30 exhibitors, mainly from Trafford but with guests from Manchester & Stockport.

Organised by artists Sophie Nixon and Jo Lavelle, the exhibition provides an opportunity to view and purchase the work of artists and designers from the area. There will also be the chance to meet the artists and designers and watch them as they work.

Jo Lavelle says: “We have a fantastic following in Sale & Trafford and since our last art market the 'Christmas Bazaar' at the Trafford Music Service, we noticed that more people are visiting Sale from out of the area to come to our events.

“Sale Arts Trail continues to deliver high quality arts events to the Trafford area and we are really excited about 2017 and working towards 2012.”'

Artist Takeover will include jewellery and glasswork as well as painting and photography. With woodcraft, tailoring and textiles on display as well, the exhibition highlights the wide range of artwork produced in the area.

New exhibitors this year include artists Mat Pickles, Christina Quine and John Dempsey from Sale, Timperley ceramicist Barbara Chadwick, and Altrincham-based textile designer, Sue Deighton.

The Sale Arts Trail was formed four years ago to promote professional artists and makers in Trafford and neighbouring areas. It has been associated with the Sale Festival since 2015 and it also organises Life drawing classes at the Claremont Centre, Sale.

Admission to the exhibition is free. It will take place in the Waterside Arts Centre, Sale, on June 11, from 10.30am-5pm.

The Sale Festival continues until Sunday June 25.
