POLICE are appealing for witnesses after robbers armed with a knife targeted a shop in Sale.

At about 6.50am on December 9, three men, one armed with a knife, went into the McColl's shop on Coppice Avenue and threatened staff.

They forced staff to the back of the shop, before stealing money from the till and cigarettes from the display, and fleeing.

Police believe the offenders used an orange Nissan Juke car and are keen to speak to anyone who saw the car in the area the day before, or perhaps leaving the scene. It was later found burnt out nearby.

All three men were wearing dark clothes and face coverings. The man with the knife is further described as white, 5ft 8in tall and of slim build.

Detective Constable Amy Coleman said: “Staff were left shaken after being threatened by men armed with a knife and it is vital we catch those responsible.

“I am keen to speak to any witnesses who saw the trio fleeing the scene, or saw the Nissan Juke in the area.”
