CORONATION Street fans have the chance to own a costume worn by a popular character during a dramatic fire scene.

The costume Anna Windass - played by Debbie Rush - was wearing when she suffered severe burns following a car explosion is being auctioned off to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House.

The auction is being organised by the Banks family from Sale who wanted to thank Ronald McDonald House for its support during a difficult time.

Ronald McDonald House, which provides free 'home away from home' accommodation to families with children receiving treatment in the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

Mum Helen Banks had to use the service after her 14-year-old son fell critically ill during the summer. He was in a coma for two weeks and in hospital for five weeks. During this “devastating and terrifying” time, a member of his family could always be by his side, thanks to Ronald McDonald House.

Helen recently raised £2,690 with charity night at Metrovicks Rugby Club.

Now she si looking to boost the fund further with the auction of the Corrie outfit.

Helen said: "This is a one off piece that would benefit any Coronation Street fan."
