HE hasn’t had an easy start to life – but can you help Eric have a happy future?

The Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA) is searching for a new home for black and white moggy Eric.

Eric arrived at the charity earlier this year battered and bruised as he’d gotten into a few fights living as a stray cat.

Eric has now been neutered, which should curb his enthusiasm for a punch up.

Ruth Hastie, SAA fundraiser, said: “He is a vocal, very friendly cat who loves his food and would be suitable for people aged 10 or above. He must be rehomed as a single cat – he had cat flu in the past which means the virus stays in his system and can become active again when stressed.

“For Eric, this means no more than a bit of sneezing but when the virus is active, he could be contagious to other cats.

“Once he is comfortable in his new home, we would anticipate that he would remain relatively symptom free.”

All adult cats leaving the SAA are neutered, vaccinated, flead and wormed and have often been treated for other medical conditions.

Eric had an abscess from a bite when he first arrived at SAA – therefore, the charity charges an adoption fee of £60.
