A NEW Alzheimer’s and dementia care home in Partington has thrown open its doors to the public.
Elkin Court Day Centre, in Hardwick Road, provides day care to people with Alzheimer’s, dementia and sensory difficulties.
Activities include musical reminiscing through karaoke, watching classic films, quizzes and games.
The Elkin Court Day Centre is the brainchild of Mary Guilfoyle, who after her success at Heather Day Care, decided to open another one to specialise in Alzheimer’s and dementia sufferers.
On Tuesday April 5, Elkin Court was officially opened by Mayor of Trafford John Holden.
Stretford and Urmston MP Kate Green also attended the event and, along with the Mayor and Mayoress, visited the various attractions, including tombola, baby clothes stall and raffle.
Wayne Devlin, Trafford's own Frank Sinatra, provided entertainment.
The whole day raised a total of £260, which will go towards the daily running of the day centre.
