POLICE investigating after a surgeon was stabbed outside a mosque in Hale have charged a man in connection with the attack.
Nasser Kurdy, 58, suffered stab wounds to the neck following the incident on Sunday evening.
He was treated for his injuries and later discharged from hospital.
Ian Anthony Rook, aged 28, of no fixed abode has been charged with a section 18 assault and possession of a lethal weapon.
A second man has been released with no further action.
Rook has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester on October 24.
At around 5.50pm on Sunday 24 September 2017 police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed outside the Altrincham and Hale Muslim Association on Grove Lane.
