A BOWDON-based multicultural action group is toasting to twenty years of hitting the right notes.

Inspired by her daughter Leena, Kalpna Khurana set up The Harmony Association to promote goodwill and peace through the media of dance and music from a range of countries.

The association celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and Kalpna, who is now in her 70s, opened up her Bowdon home last month to mark the milestone.

The Mayor of Trafford, councillor Judith Lloyd, the president of Manchester Indian Association Raj Dutta, and members of The Harmony Association, Trafford Blind and Deaf Club, and The Hub all attended the celebration.

MPs Graham Brady and Kate Green also sent their congratulations.

“Credit goes to Leena, she inspired me to start harmony, to help other children and bring goodwill and peace,” said Kalpna.
