LADIES and gents, form an orderly queue - a club dedicated to all things bubbly is coming to Hale.

Hot on the heels of the UK’s first Fizz Festival in Altrincham comes the UK’s first Fizz Club.

Festival organiser Janet Harrison, from Cracking Wine, has teamed up with Gastronomy, in Hale, to launch the club.

The first event will take place at the Ashley Road restaurant on Thursday April 21 at 7pm.

There are no membership fees, and each evening will consist of a tasting of five different sparkling wines. The event will include wine tasting tips, where to buy the best fizz, a fizz quiz and Gastronomy Deli treats.

Tickets are £20 per person.

“We hope to have some ‘extra special’ events for our members,” said Janet.

“I’ve been asked so many times when we are repeating the festival, which we have booked for November 12 and 13 at Altrincham Town Hall.

“Until then, I thought this would be a great way for people to learn more about their favourite sparklers in a lovely environment with like- minded fizz-fanatics.”

Cracking Wine, a wine tasting company set up by Janet, organised the sell-out inaugural Fizz Festival at Altrincham Town Hall in November 2015. More than 400 people attended and it attracted specialist retailers, producers and importers from all over the world.  An English sparkling wine, Camel Valley Rosé, took home Fizz Festival people’s choice award.

This year, the festival will be in the same venue, with added ‘satellite’ events, including exclusive producer dinners and an awards ceremony to celebrate the best Champagne, English sparkling wine and sparkling wine, as chosen by the attendees of the festival.

Tickets are available from Gastronomy: enquiries@gastronomydeli.co.uk or call 0161 928 7870 or info@crackingwine.co.uk   Ticket price includes all food, drink and even a prize for the winning team.
