SOUTH Manchester Speakers’ Club is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month (September).

And in a bid to boost membership, potential new members are being urged to speak up for themselves at two free sessions.

The highly–acclaimed club is holding a welcoming evening at its venue – Altrincham’s Cresta Court Hotel – tonight (September 15) starting at 7.30 pm.

“Our aim is to help new members gain more self-confidence,” said president Steve Scott.

“We believe that people who can speak up for themselves gain more self-respect and also enhance their chances of not only impressing their colleagues but, more importantly, their employers.”

Founder member Richard Aves said: “We are a very friendly club and new members are always extremely welcome.

“Since the club started 10 years ago, people have fed back to us how they have advanced their careers.

“That is why the club is offering two free sessions to help new members hone their speaking skills – and, above all, have fun.”

National Speakers’ Club president Gwyneth Millard said: “Once again South Manchester Speakers’ Club is proving to be one of the most welcoming clubs in the country.

“Their skill and enthusiasm reflect the high quality of training potential public speakers receive from the dedicated club.”
