ALTRINCHAM town centre’s annual Easter trail is getting a new twist this year with a dinosaur theme.

From Tuesday April 11 to Saturday April 15, Altrincham Unlimited will invite families to ‘eggsplore’ Altrincham in the Great Dino Egg Hunt, with 18 dinosaur eggs hidden in shops all around the town centre.

Maps and goody bags can be picked up from either Altrincham Library, in Stamford New Road, or Waterstones, in George Street. Children will receive Easter treats all around the trail, and those who tick off every dinosaur egg will be entered into a draw to win a fantastic toy bundle from The Entertainer.

Throughout the trail families will also be able to join in with free craft activities at arts and heritage centre Art with a Heart, in Stamford New Road.

The fun then steps up a gear on Saturday April 15, with a full day of dinosaur-themed activities at Kings Court, organised by Sale-based community arts group Two by Two (curators of 2016’s Sale Art Zoo).

Families are invited to join them in a Jurassic-themed Kings Court for free arts and crafts, Easter bonnet-making, face-painting (small charge), balloon modelling (small charge) and an Easter Bonnet Parade.

There will also be a very special guest the form of REX, an amazingly lifelike Tyrannosaurus Rex, who will be stomping through Altrincham town centre at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm.

Katie Bland, BID Manager for Altrincham Unlimited said: “Last year’s Pumpkin Trail was a huge hit with local families, bringing over 1000 visitors to Altrincham town centre, and we’re confident the Dino Egg Hunt will be equally popular. As well as being a fantastic free activity for families over the school holidays, it’s also a great way to highlight new shops and highlight existing businesses.”

Zoe Taylor, owner of Two by Two said: “We were delighted to be approached by Altrincham Unlimited to run a free activity day in Altrincham town centre as part of their Easter programme. After the success of Sale Art Zoo this is right up our street, and we’ve loved the opportunity to get creative with the dinosaur theme. We look forward to welcoming lots of little dino-fans to our Jurassic world in Kings Court on Saturday.”
