DAFFY the Daffodil took a trip over to Altrincham to take centre stage at Altrincham Garrick.

This was in preparation for Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraising campaign, ‘The Great Daffodil Appeal’.

Daffy went to spread the word about a street collection on March 11 as well as various supermarket collections in March and April.

As we see the first daffodils of the year bloom, terminal illness charity Marie Curie is asking Trafford residents to volunteer to collect for its Great Daffodil Appeal in March.

Volunteering just two hours of your time to give out daffodil pins in return for a donation can help Marie Curie Nurses be there for people living with a terminal illness in their own homes

Lynn Patridge, community fundraiser for Trafford said: “We are calling on the people of Trafford to help us make every daffodil count this year. All you have to do is encourage people to give a donation and wear a daffodil pin, it’s that simple.

"So round up your friends, family and colleagues and together we can help Marie Curie provide free confidential and practical support to more people affected by terminal illness who need it and research into better ways of caring for people living with a terminal illness.”

Last year the charity supported more than 50,000 people affected by terminal illness.Make Every Daffodil Count and volunteer to support now: mariecurie.org.uk/daffodil or call 0800 304 7025.
