The Altrincham Rotary Club held a collection last weekend at Tesco store Altrincham.

The amount of money raised on December 16 and 17 was just under £1500.

The Altrincham Rotary Club would like to thank all those who contributed. The money raised will to local causes.

In the past the organisationS the Altrincham Rotary Club has helped have included the sea scouts, air cadets, Macmillan nurses, the Family Counselling Line, and the Salvation Army.

The Altrincham Rotary Club was also collecting new toys and tins for the Salvation Army and had collection boxes in several locations.

The target of 2000 new toys was reached and will be distributed to less well off families in the area in time for Christmas. Children will now wake up  on Christmas morning to presents that they would not normally receive.

 Drop off points in Altrincham  included Art with a Heart, Marks and Spencer, Boots, Randall Jewellers, Rackhams, Wilkos, Salvation Army store. In Timperley Sausolito, Bocadillos and Luxistore. In Sale Ashbrooks furniture store.In Hale the Railway Pub, Hale Prep School and Altrincham Girls grammar school.

The club's Ken Garrity said: "A great big thank you to all those who contributed and collected."
