DID you catch Altrincham’s young talent take to the ice on BBC this week? There’s still time to catch-up!

Synchro skating team the Whizz Kids, of the Altrincham Synchro Ice Skating Club, were featured in an episode of Ice Stars, which aired on Tuesday.

Members’ ages range from nine to 13 and they are dedicated to their sport, training at 6am before school.

They were filmed back in January, when film crews followed them at the British Championshships.

Coach Sam Ozard said: “The team were thrilled to see themselves on TV, especially as it's a programme they all watch avidly! They have all had positive reactions and messages from their friends and their schools .I think it's great to see our team and team sport being portrayed so well to such a massive audience.”

The next competition for the Whizz Kids is the Winter Cup in Belgium at the end of the month.

The skating club has four other teams and is always looking for new members. Visit altrinchamsynchroteams.weebly.com for more information.
