ALTRINCHAM Rotary Club is calling for Trafford residents to back its annual Christmas appeal to collect toys and tins of food to help less well-off families in the borough.
The target is to get 2,000 new toys to those families to help brighten up their Christmas.
Rotarian Ken Garrity and Rachel Steward from the Salvation Army in Sale joined together to launch the appeal.
They are asking people to donate new and unwrapped toys as well as non-perishable food.
There are a number of drop off points in the area where people con make their contributions.
They are at: Altrincham -Marks and Spencer, Boots, Rackhams, Randall's Jewellers, Art with a Heart, the Salvation Army shop and Riddles bar.
Timperley - Luxistore, Bocadillos and Sausolito cafe.
Sale - Ashbrooks furniture shop.
Hale - the Railway pub.
Ken said: "With the generosity of the people in this area we can reach this target and help brighten up Christmas this year for less fortunate families.
"It would be a delight for them to be able to open presents on Christmas morning."
