TRAMS on the Altrincham line were suspended after vandals threw jump leads onto the overhead wires in Timperley earlier this afternoon.
Services ground to a halt at around 2pm after an ‘overhead line fault’. Bury to Altrincham services terminated Trafford Bar and passengers were told to use train and bus services whilst engineers fixed the problem.
Due to an overhead line fault there are no services running on the Altrincham line, with trams terminating at Trafford Bar.

Metrolink confirmed that jump leads had been thrown onto the overhead wires and the act of vandalism is being investigated by police.
