POLICE are hunting a robber who struck at the RBS branch in The Square, Sale.
A man entered the bank and passed a threatening note to a cashier demanding money, shortly before 1.50pm yesterday.
The man then fled the scene along Springfield Road towards the canal with a quantity of cash in a dark rucksack.
As the man fled, a red dye pack placed with the cash was let off inside a nearby shop.
Officers searched The Square for the man but did not catch him and the search for the man is ongoing.
The branch was marked off as a crime scene yesterday afternoon. A note said the branch had closed for the day due to 'unforeseen circumstances'.
The crime scene tape was no longer there this morning.
